GBKG March Meet-Up 2025
If you will be in the Greater Boston area on Monday, March 24, 2025 from 10:30am-1:30pm, join us for an in person meet up at the Needham VFW Post 2498, located at 20 Junction Street, Needham, MA.
• Knit, crochet, meet old and new friends, laugh and share fiber stories.
• There is plenty of parking and the venue is steps away from the Needham Junction MBTA commuter rail stop.
• There is a $10 fee to attend to cover the cost of the venue.
• There will be no speaker or presentation. We will not stream this event.
• Coffee, Tea and Water will be available. You are welcome to bring your lunch.
Community Outreach Drop Off: Be sure to bring any hats, infant items, cowls, scarfs that are ready to be dropped off. Shelley Leahy & Dottie Slade will be accepting Community Outreach donations.
Registration Required: Please register by 12pm on March 17 so that we can provide an accurate head count to the venue for set up.
Lunches: You may bring your own lunch. Boxed lunches from Volante Farms are available for pre-order for an additional $20.​​
All boxed lunches may be made gluten free upon request. All lunches come with sandwich or salad, Cape Cod potato chips, an apple, a chocolate chip cookie and water. The four boxed lunch options are:
1) Greek salad: romaine lettuce, olives, house-made croutons, peppers, feta cheese, and house-made Greek dressing.
2) Grilled chicken breast sandwich: grilled chicken breast, caramelized onion, roasted pepper and baby spinach on ciabatta.
3) Chicken salad sandwich: house-made chicken salad, tomato and lettuce on ciabatta.
4) Broccolini vegetable wrap: broccolini, roasted tomatoes, mozzarella, arugula, citrus vinaigrette and olive hummus on a wheat wrap.

Parking: Please note that you may park in any VFW spot, even those in the lot which have a sign that a permit is required. Please do not park in the MBTA lots or you may be ticketed.
Public Transportation: from Boston via the Commute Public Transportation from Boston via the Commuter Rail.
The Needham VFW Post 2498 sits directly across the parking lot for the Needham Junction commuter rail. To get the Senior Discount, you need to purchase the ticket in person.

Take I-90W/Mass Pike to exit 123A for I-95 South and continue for 3.7 miles. Exit onto Highland Avenue towards Needham and continue for 0.3 miles. Turn left onto Webster Street and continue for 1.3 miles. Turn right onto Great Plain Avenue and continue for 0.1 miles. Turn left at the second cross street onto Warren Street and continue for 0.5 miles. Turn right onto Junction Street and continue through the MBTA commuter rail parking lot. The VFW is directly ahead at 20 Junction Street.
From the West:
